7 Thank You Card Designs and Tips You Need to Know About

September 13, 2019 | Leave a Comment

Expressing gratitude comes with a lot of benefits. It can even improve your mental and physical health.

So the next time someone does something nice for you, consider sending a thank you card.

Here are some thank you card designs and tips to help you uncover your gratitude style.

1. Always Hand Write

The most important part of a handwritten thank you letter is the fact that it’s handwritten. This is something your loved one touched, held, and put real thought and effort into. I mean, who even writes by hand anymore?

2. Be Specific

When you send your thank you card, express what you’re thankful for. Write how the gift was meaningful to you, and how it made you feel.

3. Don’t Underestimate the Power of a String of Thanks

Expressing gratitude carries a lot of benefits. So consider sending thank you cards for things that aren’t prompted.

When was the last time you thanked your friends or family for the various parts of your life you’re grateful for?

The cool thing is, it’s easy to do. Start every sentence with “Thank you for. . .” and finish the thought until you run out of ideas.

For example, you could write a letter to your mom with something like this. “Thank you for always picking me up from school. Thank you for driving me to Blockbusters at ten on a school night because I didn’t want to pay the late fee. Thank you for making me practice good eating habits. Thank you for always taking care of me.”

Your thank you letter doesn’t have to be any more elaborate than that.

4. Better Late Than Never

Thank you cards are one thing where it’s truly better late than never. Even if it’s been a year or more, a handwritten thank you card will still bring a smile to your recipient’s face.

5. Keep Thank You Cards on Hand

To keep a more timely practice, find a set of thank you card stationery you enjoy, and keep it on hand. This way, whenever you need to write a thank you note, you don’t have to go to the store first.

6. Paper Matters (But Only Sort Of)

Pick something higher quality than your grocery list notepad. But you don’t need fancy stationery to send out a meaningful thank you card. Pick something you like that says thank you on the front. You can use these cards in any thank you situation.

7. Design Your Own

Are you a creative visionary? Consider making your own thank you cards specifically designed for your recipient.

Thank a teacher for looking after your child. Thank a music teacher for their lessons, or just send a simple thanks, tailored to your style.

Use These Thank You Card Designs and Tips to Really Please

Remember when it comes to thank you card designs, the message is just as important. You don’t need fancy stationery, a simple, handwritten message that says thinks.
