4 Best Baby Skin Care Products For Summer

July 12, 2019 | Leave a Comment

Summer means warm weather and extra skin exposed. Even for the babies in our lives. Taking care of your child’s skin is important all year long, but summer can be a dangerous time. Baby’s skin is more delicate than our own, so they are prone to sunburns and rashes more often. Here are four best products for taking care of your little one.

Neutrogena Pure and Free Baby SPF 50

Neutrogena makes a great line of skin products and this baby sunscreen is no exception. Ingredients include zinc oxide that protects while being gentle. It is so gentle, that many adults use this on their own sensitive skin. The SPF rating is important. You need to apply sunscreen about 30 min before going outdoors. Apply every one to two hours while outside. If the baby is enjoying some ocean or pool time, do apply after drying off.

Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion

While you may use lotion daily on baby’s skin, it’s also good to use if there is an irritation. During the summer, your little one might get a little extra sun even though you were diligent. Or a rash from pants getting wet while outdoors. Heat rash is a common occurrence for the young ones. Aveeno’s daily moisture lotion for babies is wonderful at keeping the skin hydrated. It uses oatmeal to maintain pH balances and hydration.

Boudreaux’s Butt Paste

Speaking of rashes, diaper rash can become more frequent in the summer. Sweating combined with body waste can irritate the skin and you might see it more often. The first thing to do is to allow the baby some naked time. It can get messy but naked time allows air to get to the skin and dry out rashes. Then use Boudreaux’s Butt Paste. This is a product that has been on the market for decades and is the most excellent product on the market. It’s free of dyes and parabens and you can find it free of petroleum jelly. It is more expensive than other diaper creams but this one will last you a while. It can help heal the current rash and keep the skin free of irritation in the future.

Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Baby SPF 30

Back to sunscreens, this is a great product for your young one. It contains zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. Both ingredients provide a broader spectrum of UV protection. The best part about this sunscreen is that it is water-resistant. You will be able to tell when the sunscreen wears off. There is one thing we love about this product. The bottle cap is designed to turn blue in harmful UV light. You can immediately get the baby indoors if the bottle cap turns blue.

A few simple products that can help you take care of your young one this hot summer. We have seen shifts in weather patterns and many of us are experiencing hotter summers. The fewer sunburns your young one has, the better they can avoid skin cancer in the future.
